World Poetry Day Books written by women
Today is international day of poetry and looking in this anthology of chair I have at home I was surprised by the very small number of women who appear in nearly a thousand pages. It is true that the anonymous works should be enough verses invented by women. For example, in the old romances, I see or want to see women:
"- Abenamar, Abenamar / Moor of the Moorish ,..."
"Who had the fortune / on the waters of the sea, / as had Count Arnaldos / morning of San Juan!"
And in the chapter on the popular poetry of the Middle Ages and Renaissance:
"What I want, sir? / Am married, husband I have."
But then, what a great vacuum! The truth is that Gioconda Belli's book I still like it, but turn it around and talk about it with my friends did that made me think about things like this. Of course, then comes
Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz with that of:
"fools who accuse men / women without reason, or without seeing that you are the occasion, the same thing that you blame, "
But little and had to become a nun over to write.
I copied it from Carolina Coronado (1820-1911), which had not heard before and which has a title longer than the verses are below:
AN ALBUM OF A LADY WHO WANTED TO
say something
ABOUT THE DISGRACE OF BEING A WOMAN
Oh, God! born woman is a sad thing, sort unfortunate
around us.
Ay unhappy that born beautiful!
And oh unhappy it is born ugly!
appear towards the end with her moving Carmen Conde: "I declare that is dead and that his grave / is within Me, I'm his shroud ... "And then Gloria Fuertes with several poems, including one from" Fear gives sometimes take the pen and start writing, "
Nothing, that you will not be afraid. Let this day as noted in the comments your verses
(I scheduled this post to appear on the blog at 0:21 on March 21, just at the time the spring.)
